Country Health SA Aboriginal Professional Employment Program
10 places are offered to full time or part time Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students currently studying or about to commence an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, and who have resided in rural South Australia prior to undertaking their tertiary education.
The Program provides full time students with $5000 per year paid in two half payments per year of $2,500. This amount is adjusted for part time students according to study load. Funding is awarded for up to 5 years of study depending on whether a student undertakes full or part time study.
This program includes a guarantee of employment within Country Health SA upon successful completion of the recipient’s university studies. Program recipients are still required to work for Country Health SA upon completion of their undergraduate degree for a period equivalent to the period of funding received.
Places are awarded for disciplines employed within a rural health unit for example: Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health (e.g. Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, and Physiotherapy), Business Management and Aboriginal Studies.
Allied Health students please note: applications will be accepted for both undergraduate and graduate entry courses. The course must lead to the student, upon graduation, being fully qualified to commence clinical practice.
Places for the 2010 intake are now open and will close on 31st December 2009.
