The Mount Barker District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is a 34 bed acute facility which offers inpatient services including; obstetrics, acute medical, palliative care, surgical procedures, day surgery and post-operative recovery. 

Accident and emergency

Nurses assess all patients presenting at the hospital and arrange appropriate care. This may include arranging a GP onsite, transfer to a local GP, admission to the hospital or transfer to a city hospital.

GPcare is a private after hours GP service which runs at the hospital:
  • Monday to Friday: 6.00 pm to 10.00 pm
  • Saturday: 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm
  • Sunday and public holidays: 10.00 am to 6.00 pm

Visiting hours

Visiting hours at the hospital are as follows:

  • General wards: 2.30 pm to 8.00 pm.
  • Maternity ward: Strictly 2.30 pm to 8.00 pm.

Car parking

Disabled parking is available immediately in front of the hospital’s main entrance. Other parking is to the left of the main entry drive on Wellington Road.

Additional spaces are available at the back of Adelaide Hills Community Health Service for their clients only.

Disabled access

The building is wheelchair accessible and there are toilets for people with disability. Please ask at Reception.

Adelaide Hills Community Health Services (AHCHS) is part of the Hills, Southern Fleurieu Kangaroo Island cluster. The health service is a publicly funded health unit providing a range of services which sustain and promote good health

Accident and emergency

There are no emergency facilities at this site. The closest accident and emergency facilities are located at the Mount Barker and Districts Health Service.

Opening hours

The centre is open weekdays from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

Disabled access

There is disabled parking onsite. The building is wheelchair accessible and there are toilets for people with disability.
