Port Broughton District Hospital and Health Service is part of the Port Broughton Health Services. Our hospital is a 20 bed hospital with 24-hour accident and emergency serviced by two doctors on a call roster. We undertake some booked minor procedures and basic radiology. The hospital also offers a nursing service, day centre and Meals on Wheels.

Accident and emergency

This is a 24-hour service.

When you arrive at accident and emergency, you will be seen by the registered nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury.

In a medical emergency, it is important that you do not ‘self present’ to hospital. SA Ambulance Service emergency medical dispatch support officers can provide advanced first-aid advice over the phone while an ambulance is on its way to you.

Visiting hours

Visiting hours are 10.00 am to 8.00 pm, dependent upon the patients condition.

There is sufficient parking onsite, including clearly identified disabled parking.

Disabled access

The building is wheelchair friendly, being all on one level with self-opening doors at each entrance. Toilets for people with disability are available. Please ask at Administration.
