The Tailem Bend District Hospital is part of the Coorong Health Service and provides active medical and aged care services to Tailem Bend and the surrounding rural community. We provide general medical and palliative care and community services programs. We have residential care onsite for 10 people with a high level of needs.

Accident and emergency

This is a 24-hour service. When you arrive at accident and emergency, you will be seen by the duty nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury.

In a medical emergency, it is important that you do not ‘self present’ to hospital. SA Ambulance Service emergency medical dispatch support officers can provide advanced first-aid advice over the phone while an ambulance is on its way to you.

Visiting hours

Visiting hours are 10.00 am to 8.00 pm. These hours can be varied by speaking to the nursing staff.

There is parking onsite, including disabled parking.

The building is wheelchair accessible and there are toilets for people with disability. Please ask at Reception.
