Yorketown Hospital and Health Services is part of the Yorke and Lower North Health Services. Our hospital is a 26 bed complex that provides inpatient care in general medicine for adults and children, as well as palliative care.

Accident and emergency

A 24-hour service is provided.

When you arrive at the accident and emergency, you will be seen by the duty nurse and triaged to collect information and assess your illness or injury.

Doctors are not always in the hospital but will be called by nursing staff as required.

In a medical emergency, it is important that you do not 'self present' to hospital. SA Ambulance Service emergency medical dispatch support officers can provide advanced first-aid advice over the phone while an ambulance is on its way to you.

The on call doctors are private general practitioners and at some hospitals the doctors require payment of a gap fee. Please bring your Medicare card and concession cards when accessing emergency departments.

Visiting hours

Visiting hours are generally between 10.00 am to 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. You can contact the hospital to arrange to visit outside these hours.

Parking is available onsite.

Disabled access

The building is wheelchair accessible and there are toilets for people with disability. Please ask at Reception.
